After the 2 days of rain - big cold front moved in again. Didn't have to hike in snow - but as we climbed in elevation - it was obvious that it had been snowing all morning. The picture doesn't do this justice at all - we were walking in really tall red Spruce - almost blocking the sun out completely - then all these little "baby" evergreens trying to gow under the canopy - all covered in snow - it looked like a Christmas card. Unaka is the Cherokee word for "white". Very fitting.
