still not 100%

still not 100% on my little finger. bruising is gone, but it still hurts and can't move it all the way down with that first joint. Doctors and Nurses that are reading this - would love your point of view. Do I need to go to Dr again? should it still hurt? - happened back on the 21st of May. Don't attach to blog - please email me your thoughts directly - www.stinkyKD@gmail.com. Thanks. Oh- and don't start with - "surgery inevitable" in the heading.

Wow - you must be pretty proud of yourself! You are doing great!

Who builds and maintains the shelters? Is it just a place to sleep or do they have other things like a sink, stove, etc?

What is trail magic and who puts it there?

What do you think about as you are hiking hour after hour, day after day, week after week? Are you usually with other people so you have people to talk to? I think I would run out of things to think about.

Meanwhile back on the ranch - we're all realizing that June is coming to an end and we've not got enough objectives completed. So we're trying to figure out what we can get done in the next two weeks so that when we write a midyear review on ourselves, we can make ourselves look good enough to keep the little X at least in the Achieved catagory.

There are trail crews that volunteer to build and maintain the shelters. Shelters are simple 3 sided structures with a wooden floor - basically just enough to get you out of weather - no sink, stove, etc. Trail Magic is anthing food/drink related - typically bottled water or soda, but can be as elaborate as a person grilling burgers. Typically previous thru hikers provide - but can be locals as well. Yes - you run out of things to think about - which is why this challenge is much more mental than it is physical.
